Job Summary

Coordinate curriculum design, development and delivery for department, professional and/or community educational programs, including ongoing program assessment and improvement. Presents curricula, assembles presentations, prepares materials and supports or facilitates classes, workshops, seminars and other training services. May assist with program promotion and/or implementation, budget, administration and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency, with two years related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinates curriculum design, development and delivery for educational programs.
  2. Conducts reviews of training program(s) to identify areas for improvement and initiates appropriate changes.
  3. Maintains and analyzes data pertaining to program participants and efficacy.
  4. Establishes or maintains budgets; monitors and approves related expenditures and ensures budget goals are met.
  5. Acts as department liaison to program participants, community members and/or external organizations.
  6. May plan and coordinate outreach publicity activities by determining priorities, preparing a business plan, coordinating advertising materials and/or marketing programs to individuals and organizations.

Problem Solving

The incumbent provides independent oversight and decision making for activities related to department programs. Problems arising from these efforts will be addressed by the incumbent who will refer to their manager any issues outside of program policy and procedure guidelines.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. 

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
