Job Summary
Prepares financial reports, conducts special projects, and provides financial analysis to all levels of management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); plus two years of related experience. Also required are a thorough knowledge of established accounting principles and practices; spreadsheet and database skills; knowledge of statistics and demonstrated analytical,problem solving, human relation and effective communication skills required.
An advanced degree, such as a Master's of Business Administration, is preferred. Certain positions may require familiarity with hospital billing systems, Medicare and insurance reimbursement regulations, etc.

Problem Solving
The Financial Analyst has the authority to independently determine the type and nature of analysis to be used to obtain the desired information or results, including data to be collected, analysis methods, presentation, format and report structure.
Representative challenges of this position include organizing and prioritizing multiple projects, determining the best course of action or appropriate resources needed to complete a project or address a problem, obtaining valid data and creating clear and understandable reports that reflect the data being sought.
The Financial Analyst must correctly interpret regulations to ensure the University is in compliance with Federal, State and other requirements.
