Job Summary
Operates computer and related peripheral data-processing equipment to process software programs and produce printed output of required results. Provides customer service in computing centers.
Qualifications
One year of computer operations experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
Previous customer service experience is preferred.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
The computer operator is expected to be familiar with policies and to be able to properly apply policies. The computer operator performs basic hardware and software troubleshooting and assists customers with computer software and hardware devices. The position composes detailed problem reports when more advanced technical assistance is needed. When the computer operator determines the customer needs assistance outside the scope of their knowledge they will find an appropriate referral and assist in contacting that person.
