Collects fees or payments from customers purchasing goods or services. Prepares appropriate documentation to record transactions.
Qualifications
Six months cashiering experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), basic mathematical skills, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
Word processing and spreadsheet skills may be preferred for certain positions.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
Within the framework of University policy, the Cashier has the authority to carry out transactions related to the collection of payment for fees, fines, tickets, and purchases, and to give directions and respond to general questions. The Cashier is responsible for handling and safekeeping of cash during the shift. Requests for exceptions to policy are referred to the supervisor.
The incumbent may have the authority to exchange seats, reprint tickets, or issue replacement tickets.
