Job Title: Senior Management Assistant

Job Summary

Provides direct support to senior administration in a department with special initiatives and programs. In a highly collaborative environment, will help advance, attract resources for, and implement signature projects based on relationships with private and public sector leaders. Collaborates with faculty, students, staff, and university leadership as well as with outside entities in a variety of educational endeavors.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency and eight years of progressively more responsible management experience. Demonstrated human relation and effective communications skills are also required, along with strong quantitative and technical abilities.

A Master’s degree in a related area is preferred.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinates administrative, operational, and/or financial activities of the specific area.
  2. Creates, plans and implements projects and programs
  3. Develops partnerships with faculty, students, staff, and university leadership along with outside  entities
  4. Serves as a liaison between specific department and campus officials.
  5. Represents senior administration on policy, procedural, operational and institution-building projects with colleagues, university administrators and leaders, governmental, community, non-profit leaders, and other constituencies at the local, national, and global levels.
  6. Markets and promotes new and existing programs and services to internal and external customers.
  7. Designs and implements business process improvement and makes recommendations for process redesign. 
  8. Analyzes key business operations to identify opportunities for improved financial outcome; makes recommendations for changes in operations and policy to achieve those outcomes.
  9. Oversees and coordinates the implementation of the recommended changes.
