Job Title: Media Duplication Specialist

Job Summary

Provides assistance to faculty and multimedia staff in analyzing needs, and mobilizing necessary media, facilities, and personnel support. Researches and organizes visual and aural materials. Coordinates production copyright information etc., as directed by multimedia producers.

Qualifications

Three years related experience or equivalency; demonstrated analytical, oral and written communications skills; background in the utilization of instructional materials and equipment; and a basic knowledge of multimedia production required. Good clerical/organization skills; the ability to perform under stress of deadlines; and demonstrated human relations skills also required.

Essential Functions

  1. Keeps the flow of traffic and production in an orderly manner to ensure that all deadlines are met on jobs initiated by the multimedia producers.
  2. Maximizes creative opportunities, maintains quality control and meets budget restraints by advising copywriters, designers, talent, studio personnel, and others of technical limitations and possibilities.
  3. Determines appropriate timetables for copy, artwork, layout, printing and mailing. Anticipates production problems and opportunities as new jobs are initiated to determine most economical processes.
  4. Obtains production bids from typesetters, printers, suppliers and other vendors. Makes appropriate bid awards to various vendors on basis of cost, quality of work, delivery and other related factors.
  5. Coordinates with supervisor on inventory of supplies and paper stock using working knowledge of paper grades, weights, cuts and prices.
  6. Posts and updates a weekly log showing the current and projected status of each job and coordinates the production of all jobs with supervisor and others so they are aware of all developments and phases of production.
