Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates the activities of the audiovisual distribution unit and oversees the management of portable audiovisual equipment, including the scheduling, distribution, and maintenance of equipment inventory. Monitors the overall satisfaction of customers and supervises and coordinates the activities of staff.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalency AND two years experience in an audiovisual position; familiarity with word processing, accounting, and database maintenance software; experience working with audiovisual presentation equipment, including troubleshooting, proper maintenance, setup/teardown, operation, and transportation, and; a commitment to providing excellent customer service is required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.

Essential Functions

  1. Maintains portable audiovisual equipment inventory for campus-wide equipment distribution.
  2. Determines appropriate equipment and schedules deliveries and pick-ups on a daily basis.
  3. Maintains equipment tracking/reservation database records and overall portable equipment inventory. 
  4. Interviews, selects, and trains staff responsible for equipment delivery, technical support, audiovisual maintenance, and customer service.
  5. Resolves customer complaints and answers customer questions. 
  6. Coordinates with other departmental supervisors and technicians for equipment repair and event planning.
  7. Researches and purchases audiovisual equipment.
  8. Maintains records and submits periodic reports on equipment usage, service, and classroom maintenance. 
  9. Performs budgeting, billing and purchasing functions as required.
