Job Summary

Oversees the coordination of print jobs with University departments and collaborates with other Printing Services personnel to create production schedules.

Qualifications

Six years full-time printing experience or equivalency, two of which are in a supervisory capacity; and demonstrated effective communication and human relation skills required.

Essential Functions

  1. Reviews printing projects and schedules personnel and equipment as required to complete projects within scheduled deadlines.
  2. Trains and supervises employees in the technical aspects of printing operations.
  3. Instructs employees in the proper operation and care of equipment, and schedules routine maintenance.
  4. Meets with University clients to discuss printing projects.
  5. Inspects projects at every stage of the printing process and inspects finished product for accuracy and quality.
  6. Monitors inventory levels and orders supplies as needed to maintain appropriate levels for production.

Problem Solving

The incumbent supervises the activities of 2-10 non-exempt employees within a functional service area of Printing Services.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. 

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
