Job Title: Coordinator, Recruiting

Job Summary

Coordinates the recruiting efforts of corporate recruiters by providing knowledge of the University’s services, policies, and departments, scheduling University students with employers, and assisting with the logistical support to ensure an effective recruitment process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalency in a related area; one year of experience in career services, human resources, working in a campus environment or post college experience; a basic knowledge of employment policies, legal constraints and interviewing techniques; and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and effective communication skills required. The ability to manage time and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks are also required.

A degree in a related area may include human resources, behavioral sciences, business or other relevant field.

Essential Functions

  1. Acts as a liaison between corporate recruiters, students and Career Counselors to organize recruiting efforts with 400 - 500 companies each year.
  2. Determines how Career Services can best meet student and employer needs by maintaining open dialogue with employers, Career Counselors, students, faculty and staff.
  3. Schedules 6,000 and 7,000 student interviews each year. Makes adjustments and corrections to schedule when needed in order to accommodate employer or student needs.
  4. Coordinates the marketing efforts of Career Services for the recruitment process, by developing and sending advertisements and notifications to corporate recruiters as well as University of Utah students who are eligible to participate in the process.
  5. Performs data entry and organization of information for marketing initiatives.
  6. Prepares reports relating to the recruiting process and discusses them with Career Counselors in order to improve the current processes.
  7. Organizes the workload for support staff.

Problem Solving

When consulting with corporate recruiters, typically follows a set of predetermined rules or selects from a list of alternatives. May recommend changes to policy or procedure, but the actual changes are determined in a team environment, with final approval from the Director of Career Services.

Comments

This position by nature has a varying schedule, especially in the spring and in the fall. The incumbent may be asked to work a flexible schedule during peak times.
