Job Title: Dispatcher II, U Safety

Job Summary

Under general supervision; receives and dispatches routine and emergency calls for police, medical and other Public Safety Agencies as designated.

*Meets / exceeds all qualifications of a Dispatcher I*

Qualifications

  • 18 years old.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Type 40 WPM.
  • Legal to work in the United States.
  • No disqualifying criminal history.
  • “Train the Trainer” certified to train new employees.
  • Must be current on all EMD, CPR, BCI, POST Certifications, ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
  • Must have worked as a 911 Dispatcher or a Dispatcher I for at least 3 professional years.  
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Police, Medical and Security duties and performed other duties as assigned (i.e. Dispatch Schedules, maintaining schedules in outlook, etc.).

Problem Solving

Performs advanced level emergency communications and dispatch duties, receives and coordinates routine and emergency requests for the public safety department, dispatches patrol cars driver’s license, and other information, enter and retrieves information from the computer, learns to operate the telephones, operate multiple departments on the channel, uses other office equipment.
