Job Title: Assistant Internal Auditor

Job Summary

The Assistant Internal Auditor position is the entry position in the Internal Auditor job family. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the performance of audit related tasks and special projects. The Assistant Internal Auditor performs tasks related to financial, operational, and compliance audits and participates in special studies and investigations as requested.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, or equivalency, and current enrollment in University courses related to auditing, accounting, business, information technology or health sciences. Familiarity with standard office software and the ability to present and analyze information is also required. Preference will be given to individuals who have completed or are currently enrolled in upper division level courses.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs research and conducts surveys related to audits
  2. Examines and analyzes information from financial statements, management reports, and detailed accounting records.
  3. Assists in the collection and analysis of data and presents indications of potential fraud, waste, or mismanagement of resources to Supervisor
  4. Uses computers and audit software to complete reports
  5. Performs other audit related tasks as requested
