Job Title: Printing Specialist

Job Summary

Coordinates and produces printing and binding on medium and large offset presses and bindery equipment. Must possess a wide range of mechanical and technical knowledge to produce high quality offset printed and finished material.

Qualifications

Four years experience working with medium or large offset presses or bindery equipment or equivalency required. Knowledge of register, multiple color work, paper sizes and specifications, folding techniques, bindery methods, halftones, duotones, four-color separations, maximum and minimum ink coverage, books, pamphlets and all types of printed and bound material required. A commitment to provide excellent customer service, demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepares and sets up medium and large format offset presses and bindery equipment for all types of printed material.
  2. Mixes colored inks using binders and additives to produce desired colors.
  3. Uses knowledge of basic press chemistry to properly mix solutions, cleaners, solvents and gums.
  4. Performs daily and weekly maintenance on medium and large offset presses or bindery equipment.
  5. Acts in any capacity to assist lower-level operators with tasks.
  6. Assists whenever needed in order to meet client needs as determined by supervisors and department.

    Problem Solving

    Incumbents must be able to work under pressure and prioritize to meet deadlines. Incumbents must interact with clients and peers constructively and with a good attitude. Incumbents must be able to pick up where others have left off in order to complete orders accurately and on schedule.
