Job Summary
Develops and implements human resource programs or processes in a specialized area. The incumbent works as a team member representing his/her area of specialization in serving as a resource for Human Resources and the hospital.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, or related field, or equivalency; two years of professional human resource experience; and demonstrated understanding of human resource policies and procedures with a thorough knowledge of laws, policies, and practices in the area of specialization required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
This position has the authority to assess the needs of the Hospital and Human Resources and develop and implement new programs and procedures in area of specialty. At times, guidelines may not be clearly established requiring the incumbent to demonstrate discretion and sensitivity in establishing new procedures. This position serves as a resource in addressing problems and/or issues with the Human Resource Service Teams which at times may require researching issues to reach the best solution.
Representative challenges encountered by incumbents in this position include properly interpreting new or vague human resource law and ensuring compliance with human resource policy, procedures, and practices. The incumbents frequently faces highly sensitive, emotional, or controversial employee issues which require professional, confidential treatment.
