Job Summary

Administer technology education programs for Nuclear Medicine, MRI and CT. Oversee these programs and ensure Nuclear Medicine retains accreditation and that the curricula in all programs meet industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalency and two years clinical experience in CT, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine technology. Current registry with the appropriate body in one of the technologies.

Essential Functions

  1. Administer MR, CT, and Nuclear Medicine technology programs, ensuring that programs maintain accreditation.
  2. Design curricula for newly established CT and MR technology programs.
  3. Adjusts curricula of all programs as needed to improve the educational experience or to better meet the requirements of an accrediting body.
  4. Ensures that instructors of all programs are managing the respective curricula to meet student needs in the classroom as well as the clinical experience.
  5. Arranges lecturers for all curricula and ensures that appropriate stipend is paid.
  6. Maintains and retains student records for all technology programs
  7. Collaborates with clinical instructors to determine management of students’ performance.
  8. Collaborates with respective instructors to determine the maximum enrollment for a program. Review all applications, interview applicants, and participate in the student selection process for all three technology programs.
  9. Ensures the safety of all students and patients in the clinical areas.
  10. Maintains clinical competencies, licensure, and registry to perform clinical radiology exams and procedures in modality of expertise.
  11. May act as the instructor in one or more of the modalities (MR, CT, or Nuclear Medicine).

Problem Solving

Responsible for meeting the educational needs of all students. Based on the student competency and performance evaluations, the incumbent will decide the management of the student’s experience with the primary goal being to see the student successfully complete the curriculum and pass the appropriate registry exam. Each student will have unique strengths and weaknesses, making this a very individualized process.
