Legal Plan

 
The University has contracted with MetLife Legal Plans to offer a group plan to help employees with legal needs. The group legal plan provides access to legal representation or advice for a wide range of legal matters.

Covered legal services include:

  • Wills and Estate Planning
  • Debt Matters
  • Defense of Civil Lawsuits
  • Reduced Fees
  • Real Estate Matters
  • Consumer Protection
  • Document Review
  • Juvenile Matters
  • Family Law
  • Document Preparation
  • Traffic Matters

See the MetLife Legal Plans flyer for a summary of the plan. The Certificate of Coverage gives detailed information on benefits available to those who enroll through the University.

To get an up-to-date listing of participating attorneys (including attorneys outside the state of Utah) and covered services, go to info.legalplans.com. Once on the website current participants can go to "Members Log In". Employees who are not current members or who have not set up a member login can go to use 4940030 as the access code in the "Not a Member" box.

Enroll:

  • Initial Enrollment Period – newly eligible employees may enroll during their first 90 days of employment by logging on to the website at www.metlife.com/mybenefits or by calling 1-800-GET-MET 8.
  • Open Enrollment – employees may enroll during the University’s annual open enrollment period by logging on to the website at www.metlife.com/mybenefits or by calling 1-800-GET-MET 8.

Enrollment is automatically continued unless you cancel your enrollment during open enrollment (cancellation will be effective June 30).
