Campus/Area Walking Maps
Gold Medal Miles
Gold Medal Miles are one-mile walks designed to encourage Utahns to become more physically active. Gold Medal MileTM legacy sites have been established throughout Utah. The aim of these sites is to establish the legacy of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Utah
Gold Medal Miles have been planned with beginning walkers in mind. They are easily accessible, with restrooms and other facilities close at hand for your convenience. Most are open year-round. Admittedly, mid-afternoon in mid -summer is probably not an ideal time to go for a walk, but early morning or in the evening in mid-summer is a great time to be outdoors. Even mid-day in winter, when it's not storming, can be one of the most refreshing times of all to get out and take a little walk. The grand verdure renewal of springtime and the golden magnificence of autumn welcome even the most reticent to the outdoors for a short stroll. Each season has its own splendor and reward for those who simply reach out and take it. Gold Medal Miles are made to encourage you to do just that. Go for it!!
There are two Gold Medal Miles located here on the University of Utah campus. Click here to locate a map (Numbers 18 & 19).
