What is Kronos and how do I sign-in to it?
- Kronos is the electronic timecard system used at the University of Utah. You will track your work hours using Kronos.
- To sign into Kronos use your uNID as your User Name and your CIS Password as your password. You will usually use the HTML version of Kronos.
How do I record my hours in Kronos?
- Each department records work hours differently. You will either
- use your UCard to swipe IN and OUT using timeclocks located throughout the department’s building,
- be set up to use the Time Stamp feature to punch IN and OUT via computer, or
- your supervisor will enter your time for you.
- What if I forget to clock IN or OUT?
- Send an e-mail providing the date and time of your missed punch to UTemps@utah.edu and copy (CC) your supervisor at your current temp job.
- Keep track of and double check your hours in My Timecard under My Information.
How do I approve my timecard?
- At the end of each pay period, you are responsible for approving your timecard. If you do not approve your timecard, it will be automatically assumed that you approve of your timecard. To approve your timecard, simply click Approve at the top of your timecard any time near the end of the pay period. You may approve your timecard before your final OUT punch has registered; your out punch will still be logged.
- Your temporary department is also responsible for approving and signing-off your timecard at the end of the pay period. If they do not do either of these, UTemps assumes that the department approves and will sign-off the timecard.
If you have any questions regarding Kronos, e-mail us at UTemps@utah.edu.
