Rounding in Kronos

The following is an example of how Kronos time is rounded.

Look at the very first in punch (7:46AM). This punch will be rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. So 7:46AM will round back to 7:45AM.

Next look at the very last out punch (4:53PM). This punch is also rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. 4:53PM rounds to 5:00PM.

Calculate the totals hours between the very first in punch and the very last out punch: 7:45AM to 5:00PM = 9:15 hours.

Calculate the time “gone” (if any) taken during the day: 12:49PM to 1:24PM = 35 min. Round that time to the nearest 15 minutes. So 35 min will be 30 min.

Subtract the rounded time off from the total hours: 9:15 hours – 30 min = 8:45 hours. This is the total hours shown in the “Shift” column in Kronos.
