This action reason is used when student or non-resident employees qualify for exemption from paying FICA tax. It is also used to signify when the employee not longer qualifies for the exemption. This Action/Reason is for Payroll Office use only.

FTE Data Change

Use when an FTE change is the only change being made to a person's position. Change the FTE and Standard Hours, as appropriate. Recalculate the compensation rate using the following rules:.

For employee type Salaried (Exempt), the compensation frequency will be annual: Calculate the compensation rate by multiplying the annual amount by the FTE (e.g., annual salary of $40,000 adjusted for .75 FTE would be entered as $30,000 Comp Rate).

For employee type Hourly (Non-Exempt), the compensation rate will remain as the existing hourly rate.
