Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Library Arts, or a field related to the needed expertise, plus three years related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions
- Designs a publishing program that calls for familiarity with assigned disciplines, ability to match market needs, potential sales with book ideas on schedule and within budget.
- Contacts potential authors to satisfy requirements of publishing program.
- Follows manuscript development through regular follow-up to ensure schedule is met.
- Reviews completed manuscripts personally and through a network of outside consultants; selects reviewers.
- Prepares and presents projects to the Director and the Faculty Advisory Committee.
- Follows revisions and ensures delivery of the final and completed manuscript, ready for editing, within budget and on schedule.
- Creates a seasonal list by assigned disciplines and makes long range plans for presentation and acceptance.
- Travels to relevant scholarly conferences to talk to potential authors about publishing opportunities.

Problem Solving
Incumbents work independently and are directly responsible for the resolution of complex issues throughout the entire process of acquiring and completing manuscripts.
